Five of the best big brekkies

Niseko Five of the best big brekkies

There are plenty of places to get a great big brekkie to fuel up for a day on the slopes... here are five of the best.

1 Vale Bar & Grill

Breakfast tastes so much better in ski (or snowboard) boots, with a view of your last run. Slide on in to enjoy the Vale Bar & Grill's ¥1600 all-day breakfast, with lashings of bacon, eggs, sausage, hash browns, tomatoes, mushrooms, and thick-cut toast. An all-you-can-eat buffet for ¥1500 also includes cereals and fruit salad. We were particularly impressed with the coffee – baristas who know what they're doing!

2 Downtown Cafe

This fusion-style all-day big breakfast (¥1000) is awesome. If if it's not big enough, you can always upsize. Brekky bagels are great on the go. One of the best coffees in town.

3 Hilton

More expensive but so worth it. Spoil yourself with the Hilton indulgence that boasts a huge and varied Western and Eastern buffet (¥3400) in the hotel's Yotei Restaurant and Melt Grill & Bar.

4 J-Sekka

Not the biggest brekkie, but Sekka's gourmet breakfast menu is a must. Delicious, fresh and locally-sourced ingredients presented in chic Sekka style. Great coffee too.

5 Kogen Hotel

For value and variety, you can't go past Kogen's buffet (¥1700). Sausage, cereals and scrambled eggs to Miso soup, Japanese salad and grilled fish.
