Swing Bridge House is a comfortable cottage surrounded by farmland with amazing views

Swing Bridge House is clean, warm and comfortable house sleeping up to eight guests with two bathrooms. It’s located out of town but with a car you’ve got excellent access to the resorts of both Annupuri, Niseko Village and Moiwa. It’s called Swing Bridge House because it has a quirky little swing bridge in the garden.

The views from Swing Bridge house are amazing – from every room you’re treated with views of either Mt Yotei (the huge symmetrical volcano you’ve no doubt seen in all the pictures), Mt Annupuri which is the home of the Niseko ski resorts and is beautifully lit up at night for night-skiing, or the neighbouring snow-covered farms and forest. It truly is exquisite.

The top level makes the most of the views with the living and dining space surrounded by large windows (the master bedroom is also on this level). The kitchen comes with everything you will need to cook, including a small oven, gas stove and microwave. It also has a coffee plunger and all cutlery and cooking utensils like pots and saucepans. The living area is a great place to relax with with a DVD player and choice of movies, not to mention wireless internet for your modern convenience.

The house also comes with combination washing machine/dryer, a garage that will fit lower cars (not 4WD), there is a ski-storage/drying room.

Swing Bridge House Accommodation

Swing Bridge House has three bedrooms with two bathrooms. It sleeps six guests in the beds and an extra two people can sleep on fold out futon (traditional Japanese) beds.

Two bedrooms have double beds, and a third has a bunk bed.

Swing Bridge House Location

Swing Bridge House is located in a quiet farmland area, surrounded by forest and not much else. There is a bus stop about 150m away with buses running every hour or so. It sits pretty much halfway between the Niseko ski resorts of Annupuri and Niseko Village, so by car you’re just three or four minutes drive from each. Both have good family friendly runs and very good off piste.

There is a very good restaurant right near the house – Loft. It’s a “Genghis Khan” style restaurant which is the Japanese description of a restaurant serving lamb and vegetables that you cook over a grill in front of you. A few minutes further down the road is a quaint Western-style cafe/restaurant called M’s Cafe. and just beyond that (almost out of walking distance) is a very good okonomiyaki restaurant. Within a few minutes drive is the restaurants in Niseko Village and Annupuri – including Michelin-starred soba noodle restaurant Raukuichi Soba, and Michelin-recommended pizza restaurant Del Sole. There are not many bars in this next of the woods unless you have a designated driver, then you can drive into Niseko town or Hirafu and you’ve got plenty of options.

There is also a great choice of excellent onsen (hot spring baths) in the area, although none within walking distance.
