We organized organise Backcountry Avalanche Awareness Course(BAAC) on 25th Feb.

Time: 7:30-18:00

Meeting place: NOASC Hirafu office(infront of Splash bar)
We also can come to your accommodation to pick you up.

This program is for beginner backcountry skier or snowboarder.
Maximum of 15 people attendents.

The price : 13,000 yen including insurance

What to bring
1)ski or snowboard
2)beacon(rental available with 1000 yen)
3)Snow shoe,backpack,poles(rental available with 1000 yen)
4)Pen and paper
5)Foods

8:00 Start lecture
1)Avalanche Characteristics
   2)Winter Snowpack
   3)Identifying Avalanche Danger.- Weather, snow stability test, etc.
   4)Winter Backcountry travel.- Safety Equipment and use of
   5)Search and Rescue
   
 12:00 Lunch break

PM In the field
12:35 Transfer to Mountain in vehicles

12:40 Meeting on mountain.

13:00~17:00 On Snow 
① Route Finding.
② Snowpack tests.
③ Search and Rescue

Trainer:Ross Carty  
CAA(Canadian Avalanche Association) Operations level 1,
Backcountry Guide experience 25 years, Australian Ski patrol experience 8 years,
Japanese Ski Patrol 2 years.
