Niseko Snow Report & Forecast 6 January, 2016

By 6th January 2016Niseko Snow Report

>> Conditions observed 9am at Village level:

24-hour snow     15+cm
Temperature     -6°C
Snow depth     120cm

>> Conditions reported at 820m (Hirafu midway station):

Temperature     -12°C
Snow depth     260cm

As expected we had off and on snowfalls yesterday, with a few heavy patches. We probably had less than 5cm during the day and from nightfall to this morning we had another 10cm at village level. This will equate to some decent depths up on the mountain – boot deep with some deeper patches thanks to wind accummulation.

Another thing worth mentioning as that it’s nice and cold and perfect weather for forming our super-dry fluffy powder we know and love. It’s like talcum powder up there :)

Looking ahead and it’s same same. Consistent snowfall with no big dumps forecast. Let’s hope there’s some havy patches in there somewhere and we can get some waist-deep action again. Ciao for now!
