Another refresh for the Niseko Resort Area overnight, with 10 cm of new snow at village level this morning (Sunday 16 February).
Unfortunately the upper lifts and links to Niseko Village and Niseko Annupuri were closed due to high winds and low visibility.
But once the crowds took the Swinging Monkey lift over to Niseko Hanazono, Grand Hirafu was queue free with wide open soft pistes and smooth powder in the trees.
A storm is blowing through the area with the high winds easing off by Tuesday afternoon (18 February).
The good news is snow is forecast every day next week.
To escape the wind tomorrow, a day trip to Rusutsu is recommended.
