Today is Saint Valentine’s Day. In Japan, usually girls give boys chocolates.

A chocolate company introduced the holiday to Japan in 1936 and later began promoting the giving of heart-shaped chocolates. Other Japanese confectionery companies soon joined in, and then Isetan department store started its own Valentine’s Day sale in 1958. Other campaigns also popularized the custom, and chocolate sales sharply increased. Since there is a strong gift-giving custom in Japan, women give chocolates to their co-workers, classmates, teachers and others. Sounds like a great day for guys!!

Cold and snowy weather is coming back on tonight with strong wind. Have a nice day!!
