Some of the gates opened yesterday. I went to Moiwa to check out gate 6 yesterday. Snow was fresh and amazing. However Niseko has got 100 cm less snow this season. Bamboo and bushes are still everywhere. Please ride carefully.
New Year’s Day is a very important day for the Japanese people. People go to shrines to make wishes for the coming year. This event is called “hatsumoude”. There is one shrine in Hirafu near Izumikyo, and one in Niseko next to Seico mart if you want to make a wish:)
