Grand Hirafu ski hill: not quite cooked yet!
Niseko Grand Hirafu announced today that they are officially postponing their opening date until next weekend, Saturday November 30th. There is 50cm of snow at the top and 20cm at the base, but the hill is still a little too bare for us to be shredding it up just yet.
On the upside, this gives me a chance to do some muscle-building squats and maybe drop a sneaky pound or two before squeezing into those slim-fit snowboarding pants I thought were such a good idea last season!
The forecast is promising more snow/rain during the week, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that it’s heavier on the snow side and the usually infallible Niseko snow gods deliver the goods! See you on the slopes next weekend!
