Back to white: it’s dumping in Niseko!

By 28th November 2013March 22nd, 2021Niseko Snow Report

When the snow started falling yesterday I tried to rein in my excitement in case it turned to rain, pardon the pun, but I needn’t have worried! True to Niseko form, the snow started and it didn’t stop. I woke up this morning to a fresh 15cm, which made our walk to work more like a caper as we frolicked in the soft white powder like puppies.

The day continued in this happy vein, with gleeful shouts of ‘it’s PUKING!’ echoing around the office intermittently.

A quick view of the snow report revealed that Niseko has the highest snow forecast in the world for the next three days and the next ten days. Although it is a position we get pretty comfortable in, it was still thrilling to see us back on top after the delay of opening day!

Apparently almost 40cm fell today, and with another 30 or so forecast for the weekend, things are looking peachy for the first day of the season at Grand Hirafu this Saturday. Bring it on Niseko, bring it on!
